Some of the largest luxury estates in Dana Point, California are found in the community of Ritz Cove. Homes here have direct views of the ocean, white water, and golf course.
Ritz Cove has multimillion dollar properties that are adjacent to the Ritz Carlton of Laguna Niguel, and the Salt Creek Beach Park. This is one of the best beaches in the state, and features a seven-acre Bluff Park, as well as beach volleyball and a basketball court. Visitors enjoy coming here for swimming, fishing, and surfing. Homes overlook the Monarch Beach Golf Links, which features a Scottish links style course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. This 6,600 yard course has 18 championship holes for golfers of all levels.
Ritz Cove is hidden away from the traffic of the Pacific Coast Highway, and there are private gates that take residents down to the beach. This is a double-gated community, and homeowners enjoy privileges at the Monarch Bay Club, as well as the Ritz Carlton Hotel. There are many upscale restaurants and stores nearby as well as services.
Students in Pointe Monarch may attend one of many private schools in the area, including Broderick Montessori School, Capo Beach Christian School, and Gloria Del Lutheran Preschool. The Capistrano Unified School District offers award winning facilities like Moulton Elementary School, Marco Forster Middle School, and Dana Hills High School.
The City of Dana Point holds several events including the Festival of Whales that began in 1972, and the Tall Ships Festival which is one of the largest events on the West Coast. The Turkey Trot is held by the chamber of commerce and features a 5K, 10K, and a race for ages 5-12 called the Kids’ Gobble Wobble. More than 10,000 participants come from throughout the country. There are also many classic music concerts held by the Dana Point Symphony.
